Care of pearls
Cultured pearls are natural products and, hence, need a particular measure in care. If you follow the following care tips, the value as well as the beauty of your pearl jewellery is preserved to you around a multiple longer:

Avoid the contact the pearls with hard objects!
Never wear your pearl jewellery together with metal chains or other jewellery. Grant to your jewellery enough space! A big, level casket with many divisions is well suitable, a soft lining helpfully. Pearls are softer than precious metals, in particular precious stones, and can be scratched by other pieces of jewellery very fast.
Avoid the contact with cosmetics!
Skin care means as well as the contact with cosmetics can ruin pearls. In particular you should protect pearls against hair spray. Acids, colorings, alcoholic substances and solvents attack the pearl surface. Afterwards the necklaces, which were worn on the skin, should be polished with a soft microfiber cloth. At regular intervals a cleansing bath is advisable.
Avoid heat, water and sweat!
Among the rest, the pearl substance contains water which is needed. That's why long and dry heat should be avoided. Do not go with your pearl jewellery to the sauna, because heat attacks the organic matter and destroys by repeated effect. Water damages the partial pearl thread consisting of silk if this becomes wet.

Nevertheless, much stronger pearls are attacked by segregations belonging to body, like skin fat and sweat. These charges attack the sensitive surface of the mother-of-pearl. We recommend to rub off carefully the pearl jewellery after every wearing with a soft cloth to remove the chemistry.
The last tip:
By friction in the pearls it slowly comes to the wear of the silken pearl threads. Therefor, they must be renewed every now and then. Many jewellers offer to these services.
